Rain Rain in St. John’s

St. John’s is one area I had done very little research on before we got there. The rain is still following us, I think it just wants to keep the truck clean. Well, it’s managing to do a decent job of that. It was really pouring when Sean and I were out of George Street. If you have not heard of this street before, it is a relatively short block in St. John’s Newfoundland that is lined with bars, side by side on both sides of the street. I heard it can be quite the street party with visitors and locals alike trying to have one drink in each establishment as they walk the block. It would be quite the event to try or even see. I doubt many would be able to actually complete this task without winding up in a small ally or lying on the walkway passed out. With the rain and it being a Monday night the place seemed eerily like a ghost block instead of a party block. The dinner was good as were the couple of beers we had there. The harbour was sheltered (isn’t that the meaning of a harbour) and therefore the view was not out to sea but rather to both sides of the harbour. It was very nice just not what I had imagined.
